The NH-D15 and NH-D15S won't fit on the Gigabyte Z690i Aorus Ultra - it's mechanically incompatible for both (page on compatibility for the NH-D15S, page for the compatibility for the NH-D15). Same for the NH-U12A - mechanically incompatible. Checked the be quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 - same issue. Might need to stick with an AIO.
Is the noctua nh-d15 worth it? Hi all Here in nz, the d15 sits just shy of $200, im happy to falk out the cash if the performance is actually there, im currently using a $20 deepcool cooler with my 10700kf, it works beautifully keeping temps low during gaming but my temps skyrocket to 98 degrees during video rendering causing the pc to crash
Less expensive coolers like the AK620 "match" the NH-D15 at lower loads, and as I said, there are cheaper coolers than the AK620 that will perform at least as well as it does. However, at very high loads, $30 - $60 coolers absolutely do not match the NH-D15 or Dark Rock Pro 4. And it's because those more expensive cooler have more robust
NH-D15 chromax.black low cooling performance? I feel very underwhelmed by the performance of the D15. at stock settings 9700k turbo to 4.7ghz the D15 fails to keep my temps in check during a Prime95 blend test. within a minute cores are hitting 100c. I have remounted it 2 times now with the same results.
Recently i purchased Noctua NH-D15 cpu cooler. Works fine, but because of RAM height and computer case height i'm unable to close side cover due to second fan sticking out too much. So i was thinking to buy another Noctua cooler (120x120x25) , possibly NF-F12 PWM, and put the 140mm fan that came with the cooler as front intake on pc chassis.
The fan bracket is designed for a 140mm fan, it just looks a little stretched when used with 120mm. I kept the big fan in the middle of mine since it has no issue going all the way down. The D15 fan is the A15 with the same hole spacing as a 120mm fan, there will be no stretching. Single 140mm is sufficient.

The LPX low-profile are reported here to be 34mm, which would add about 2mm to the cpu cooler height. Just FYI, Techspot reported a 5ghz OC 9900K to run at 100C with an NH-D15 when
Noctua NH-D15, Premium CPU Cooler with 2x NF-A15 PWM 140mm Fans (Brown) State-of-the-art dual-tower design with 6 heatpipes and 2 fans provides class-leading cooling performance for overclocking or near-silent systems. Stick with the Scythe cooler. The FUMA is another good alternative if height is an issue. Good to know. I think that FUMA might actually be better for my setup, given the size of the case. Thanks for the input! I just want to add a word of caution about the NH-D15: mind the size.
